In 1999, Chicago had a special art project "Cows on Parade" for which a few hundred fiberglass cows were decorated in various ways by different artists, and displayed in various locations in and near downtown. Here are some of my favorites:

Tigers in Oslo, Norway, part
of their 1000-year

Oslo is known as the "tiger town" (beautiful yet dangerous); the reference
comes from a piece of Norwegian literature, "The last song" by
Bjørnstjerne Bjørnsom from 1870. (Real tigers, of course, are found only
in Asia (and in zoos). The only Norwegian wild cat is the lynx. :-)
