What: You'll find here some songs, poetry, chants and stories (no satire yet) for and by Pagans. As of September 2004, there are about 250 items in the database. (Not much has been added since then, but I'm hoping for a major rehaul at some point.)

Why: I love Pagan music, and I wanted to share my love with other people. I like making information more accessible, because I'm a librarian.

Who: It's been my own personal labor of love -- entering data, coding the pages by hand and researching the songs so I could provide accurate credit. You are certainly welcome to send me things to include in the database -- and thank you in advance!

How: You can browse, using this Site Index. Search is temporarily down.

Also, check out my reviews and information about my favorite Pagan artists and bands.

Copyright? Yeah, you're right; it's an important issue. It's hard to reconcile copyright issues with "oral tradition!"

One of the motivating factors behind the creation of this database was that I was seeing a lot of unattributed or wrongly attributed chants and songs posted to various web pages. I liked having access to the lyrics, but I didn't like the mistakes. I thought this might be a good, positive way to do something about it.

I also think Pagan music doesn't get enough publicity. I want people to buy this music. Hopefully this site will encourage people to do this.

After fifteen years of hosting this site, I have received no complaints from artists. If you're an artist and want your work removed from the database, let me know and I'll take it out. I'd also be happy to make a public notice which says you don't want your work posted on the Internet.
