My Little Pony Brochures

Good lord, I did keep everything, didn't I!? It's interesting to go back and look at these old brochures to see how the world of MLP has developed.

1984 Brochure
Front | Back
I think this brochure came with the Show Stable or one of the other building play sets. The front is a panorama of all the Year 2 ponies, and in fact was the basis for my own map of Ponyland (which existed in my basement). The back shows all the ponies, pony wear and play sets sold in Year 2.

1985 Collector Ponies Brochure
Front | Back
The design of this brochure was similar to the first, but it was smaller, and it included an offer to purchase the set of 6 "Collector Ponies," the Show Stable, the Pretty Parlor, the 12 Birthflower Ponies and the MLP fan club. Offers required a certain number of Horseshoe Points, found on the packaging of all MLP merchandise.

1986 Mummy Charms Brochure
This brochure was a single-sided page displaying the 20 Mommy Charms and free charm bracelet. For some reason, the charms are referred to "Mommy Charms" in all other places except the title.

1987 Checklist Brochure
Front (Top) | Front (Bottom) | Back
This extensive photo and drawing brochure shows all the Year 5 pony merchandise. The front top includes the Perm Shoppe, the Baby Bonnet School, and Pony Wear; on the front bottom are the Big Brothers, the Satin Slipper Sweet Shoppe, Paradise Estate, Party Gift Packs, Soft Sleepy Newborns and Pony Purse. On the back is the checklist and all the current ponies.

1987 Collector's Album Brochure
Front (Top) | Front (Bottom) | Back
Similar to the Year 5 brochure, this presented photos and drawings of Year 6 merchandise. On the front top are the Princess Ponies, Big Brothers, Summer Wing and Brush 'n Grow Ponies; on the bottom are the Twice as Fancy, Happy Tails, Magic Message and Sundae Best Ponies. On the back are the remaining Year 5 ponies and playsets.

1987 Stable Fable Brochure
Front (Top) | Front (Bottom) | Back
This brochure included send-away offers for the second set of Rainbow Ponies, Megan 2nd ed. and So-Soft Sundance, the Pretty Parlor (without Peachy), Lucky the first Boy Pony, Baby Buggy and Cuddles with Beddy-Bye Eyes, Satin 'n Lace the bridal pony, and "a NEW My Little Pony Fan Club." The inside contained a large poster of Megan and all the ponies on a fluffy cloud.

1990 "Day at the Beach" Brochure
Front | Back
In keeping with the new style of brochure, this one was done with photographs instead of drawings. It presented a plethora of special offers: the Baby Pearlized Ponies, the Mommy and Baby Pony set, the first Rapunzel, Baby Gametime and Baby Sugarcake, and the Satin Slipper Sweet Shoppe.

1991 (?) Sparkle Pony Brochure
Front | Back
This is the mail-order brochure for the Sparkle Ponies, along with continuing offers of Megan and Sundance, Satin 'n Lace, Baby Cuddles (BBE) and Buggy, and the fan club. This was also the brochure containing the offer for Clipper. On the back was a cool panorama of all the ponies in a tropical paradise.

I also retained a few of the instruction sheets which came with my playsets. These instruction sheets were 8.5x11" and were printed in blue ink.
