Summary

Chris Hedges is a correspondent for the New York Times who reported on the Israeli/Palestine conflict, Yugoslavia, El Salvador, and the Persian Gulf. He writes on the myths, nationalism, cultural destruction, the seduction of battle, the cause, and other aspects of war. He relates first-hand experiences and the experiences reported by others to him or otherwise published.

He covers lots of information on deceptions and motivations for those deceptions. He discusses what pushes people to perform the acts they perform.

My take

I liked the book a lot. It was pretty much what I expected. Somewhat depressing in parts.

It doesn't always flow from paragraph to paragraph well.
